System Issue Impacted Application Submission Today

It was reported that Grants.gov was experiencing technical issues impacting applicants’ ability to access application packages, submit, check status of a submission and access their website today. These issues impacted NIH’s ability to process applications and some features in ASSIST. It appears that service to Grants.gov has been restored and NIH is now processing all submitted applications.  These issues may have been related to a wider Internet issue.

CAAT Refinement Symposium: November 30, Baltimore, MD

The Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT) will present “Progress in Refinement: Enhancement of Scientific Integrity and Animal Well-Being” on November 30, 2017, at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. This one-day symposium is for IACUC members and administrators, principal investigators, attending veterinarians, regulatory personnel and laboratory animal care staff. The program focuses on refinement and will include discussions on social housing, pain assessment and management, environmental enrichment, and other critical topics.
 

SCAW Winter Conference: December 4-5, San Antonio, TX

The Scientists Center for Animal Welfare (SCAW) will present the 2017 Winter Conference “Animal Welfare and the IACUC Role in Assuring it” on December 4-5, 2017, in San Antonio, Texas. The two-day conference is for IACUC members and administrators, principal investigators, attending veterinarians, regulatory personnel and laboratory animal care staff. The program will provide key findings and advances in research animal welfare and explore policy and management issues related to IACUCs.
