OLAW is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Paula Knapp to the position of Animal Welfare Policy Scientist, Division of Assurances. Ms. Knapp has 16 years of experience in animal welfare policy, 12 of those years as a contract Quality Assurance Specialist for OLAW Division of Assurances. She obtained her BS degree in Biology from Lebanon Valley College and is registered with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists in clinical laboratory medicine. Prior to joining OLAW, she was the IACUC Coordinator and Protocol Analyst at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 2004, she came to NIH as a contract Compliance Specialist to ensure compliance with animal welfare policies and guidelines for the Comparative Medicine Branch of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Ms. Knapp looks forward to applying her comprehensive understanding of animal care and use programs and extensive knowledge of the operations of the Division of Assurances in her role as Animal Welfare Policy Scientist.
