Just-In-Time Information (JIT)

Scope Note

If your application fared well in review and the NIH Institute or Center considers your application fundable, NIH staff may reach out with a request to include Just-in-Time (JIT) information. Note that this request is not an indicator of an award decision.

JIT information requested includes:

  • Other support
  • Certification of Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval
  • Certification of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approval
  • Human subjects training certification for all key personnel

JIT information must be submitted for NIH review and evaluation prior to making an award. This information may be submitted via the Just-In-Time function within the eRA Commons.

Tip
Project directors/principal investigators (PD/PIs) must work with their organization's administrative officials to prepare and submit JIT materials. If questions about the JIT process arise, administrative officials can also gain clarification from the grants management specialist assigned to the application.
