Lillian Kuo from the National Cancer Institute and Kentner Singleton from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, share their advice and experience on developing a research plan for a grant application. They discuss the relationship between the specific aims and research strategy, provide suggestions for when you sit down to start writing, and share common pitfalls.

Information on Other Support is used for grant awards and progress reports. “Other Support” is sometimes referred to as “current and pending support” or “active and pending support.” 

How to Access

Unless otherwise stated in the funding opportunity, Other Support information is requested as part of the Just-in-Time process in the post-submission, pre-award cycle.

Official Statement Relinquishing Interests and Rights in a PHS Research Grant

A Relinquishing Statement is required as part of the Change of Recipient Institution process. It is the official statement relinquishing interests and rights in a PHS research grant allowing an active grant to be transferred to another institution.

How to Access

The signing official should submit the information required on the relinquishing statement through the eRA Commons.

Instructions for Submission of a Reference Letter

Description

Some types of programs, such as fellowships and some career development awards, require the submission of reference letters by referees. Referees must submit these letters by the application deadline in order to be considered as part of the application.

How to Access

References letters are submitted directly to eRA Commons at Submit Reference Letter. Referees DO NOT need need to login to eRA Commons to submit their letters.
