Clinical Trials Interest Areas
NIBIB only supports mission-focused early-stage clinical trial applications, i.e., feasibility, Phase I, first-in-human, safety, or other small clinical trials, that inform early-stage technology development. Mechanistic clinical trials are not supported unless the primary focus of the project is on technology development.
- NIBIB has a particular interest in clinical trials with a primary focus on technology development for:
- Feasibility clinical trials
- First-in-human clinical trials
- Phase I clinical trials
- NIBIB does NOT support:
- Pivotal trials
- NIH-defined phase II, III, IV clinical trials
- Trials with efficacy, effectiveness or post-market concern as primary outcome.
