The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) will accept applications from institutions or organizations to support conferences, symposia, workshops and/or meetings that align with our mission and strategic priorities. NINR leads discoveries of innovative systems and models of care, breakthroughs in disease prevention and health promotion, and advances in population and community health. Our research empowers individuals, families, communities, and populations to optimize their health and well-being. Drawing on the strengths of nursing’s holistic, contextualized perspective, core values, and broad reach, NINR funds multilevel and cross-sectoral research that addresses the myriad factors that impact health across the many settings in which nurses practice, including homes, schools, workplaces, clinics, criminal-legal settings, and the community. The NINR encourages enhanced participation of early career scientists and trainees in events supported by this mechanism. Applicants are strongly encouraged to consult with appropriate NINR staff when considering a R13 application. |

Training Meeting Contact: Grants Management Contact: |
NHGRI will support the development of resources, approaches, and
technologies that will accelerate genomic research on the structure of genomes, the biology of genomes,
and the biology of disease; that will advance the science of genomic medicine; and that will incorporate
genomics to improve the effectiveness of healthcare. NHGRI will also support genomic research in several
cross-cutting areas, including the ethical, legal and societal implications of genomics and genetics
research, bioinformatics, technology development, and research training and career
development. NHGRI also supports an Annual Training Meeting, a venue for trainees supported by NHGRI to present their research and network with 300-400 other trainees and established researchers from training programs across the United States, with a mix of plenary and trainee presentations, poster sessions, career development sessions, and networking opportunities. NHGRI supports meetings on generalizable methods and knowledge. Applications for conferences relevant only to a particular disease or organ system should be directed to the appropriate Institute or Center. NHGRI strongly encourages potential applicants to contact program staff in the early stages of developing your application. Contacts by research area can be found at https://www.genome.gov/research-funding/Funding-Opportunities-Overview/contacts-by-research-area |

National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Scientific Program Contact: |
Due to budgetary constraints, the NHLBI is only accepting primary and secondary assignments on applications for the support of meetings directly related to heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders and conditions. All requests for permission to submit an application should include a listing of recent or upcoming meetings addressing the same or similar topics, if any, and the "value-added" by the proposed meeting. Typically, NHLBI provides nominal support for conferences between $5K and $10K. Per funding opportunity application instructions, an applicant seeking NHLBI support must request advance permission to submit an application no later than six weeks before the application due date. Additional information on the NHLBI R13 Program can be found at https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/grants-and-training/policies-and-guidelines/conference-grant-r13-application-procedures. |

NIDCD’s R13 applications will have a budget cap of $60,000 in direct costs per year. Regardless of co-funding arrangements that sometimes occur between NIDCD and other NIH institutes or centers, the budget cannot exceed $60,000 in direct costs per year. |

National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Scientific Program Contact: |
Conference Grants are awarded to institutions and organizations
(not individuals) to provide partial support for meetings, conferences, and workshops to coordinate,
exchange, and disseminate research information. Letters of intent (LOI) are due at least 6
weeks prior to the application receipt date. Applicants are strongly encouraged to consult with
appropriate NIDDK program staff when considering an R13 application. Agreement to accept an
application does not guarantee funding. |

National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke (NINDS) Scientific Program Contact: |
Only applications that fall within the NINDS mission will be accepted and considered for funding by NINDS. Potential applicants must submit a pre-submission request form no later than six weeks before the application receipt date. Applicants that fail to submit this form or submit it less than six weeks prior to the application receipt date may be denied and would need to re-submit for the next receipt date. Please see the NINDS R13/U13 page for more details. |

National Library of Medicine (NLM) Scientific Program Contact: |
The National Library of Medicine provides partial support for meetings, conferences, and workshops that coordinate and foster the exchange of scientific information aligned with NLM’s mission to advance medicine and improve public health by making biomedical information more accessible and useful. NLM supports events that facilitate knowledge dissemination and collaboration in areas such as biomedical informatics, data science, health information technology, and library and information sciences. Conferences should contribute meaningfully to the field and engage relevant stakeholders including researchers, clinicians, librarians, and the public. While NLM will consider requests for support up to $70,000, typical awards have ranged between $10,000 and $25,000. NLM will not support the annual meeting for an organization. |

Office of Autoimmune Disease Research
(OADR-ORWH) Scientific Program Contact: |
OADR-ORWH is accepting submission of “permission-to-submit” applications for R13 proposals seeking funding for the support of scientific conferences and workshops that will bring together subject matter experts in autoimmune disease research with the goal of developing and refining Common Data Elements (CDEs) for autoimmune disease research. The use of CDEs supports the 2023 NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy by facilitating harmonization of data from different studies and interoperability. |
|
Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) Scientific Program Contact: Grants Management Contact: |
The Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) advances
the NIH mission by supporting research infrastructure and research-related resource programs and by
coordinating NIH’s science education efforts. ORIP’s high-priority thematic areas are: (1) developing
models of human diseases; (2) accelerating research discoveries by providing access to state-of-the-art
instrumentation; and (3) training and diversifying the biomedical workforce. For models-oriented conferences and meetings, proposals to be considered must be applicable to the research interests of two or more categorical NIH Institutes/Centers (ICs). Applications that relate strictly to a specific disease or category of research will not be accepted and should be proposed to the appropriate categorical IC of the NIH. Furthermore, applications proposing conferences or scientific meetings that are related predominantly to the interest of one IC and only peripherally to the interests of other ICs are not acceptable. For training-oriented conferences and meetings, applications with a primary focus on veterinarian-scientists as translational researchers will receive priority for consideration. These grants generally support only a portion of the entire cost of a conference or scientific meeting. Typically, ORIP provides nominal support for conferences between $5K and $10K. |
