What to Expect
The ICARE Academy uses active learning techniques that are proven to increase the effectiveness of adult education by engaging the learner in hands-on activities that require the application of high-level concepts. Participants will work in both large interactive sessions and small facilitated breakout groups participating in learning activities including interactive presentations and discussions.

About ICARE
The Interagency Collaborative Animal Research Education (ICARE) Project is an initiative of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Science Foundation (NSF), Veterans Administration (VA), Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), and Department of Defense (DoD). This group of federal agencies is involved in the welfare of animals used in research, teaching, and testing in the US. Although federal animal care and use standards vary, all endorse local oversight for the humane care and use of animals by an IACUC.
