Visit with OLAW Staff at the 2017 NIH Regional Seminar in New Orleans on May 3-5

The NIH is hosting the 2017 Regional Seminar on Program Funding and Grants Administration in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 3-5, 2017. Meet and hear from NIH Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) staff, along with approximately 65 additional NIH & HHS experts at the seminar as they discuss over 45 different topics relative to the NIH grants process! This seminar will help you understand the NIH, provide information about searching for the right funding opportunities for your research, provide insights into the NIH peer review system, give you the latest policy and administrative updates, and expose you to many other subjects related to NIH and funding: electronic research administration (eRA), NIH policies on animals in research, human subject protection and clinical trials, Biosketch and sciENcv, intellectual property, and more. Check out the agenda for all the details.

The presentations are primarily targeted towards attendees new to the NIH grants process who are seeking a better understanding of the NIH grants process, resources, and contacts. In addition to a session provided by Dr. Neera Gopee, Veterinary Medical Officer, OLAW, she and our entire roster of presenters will be on hand at various times throughout the 2-day seminar to meet with you during our “1:1 Meet the Experts” sessions. These 15 minute chats provide a unique and valuable opportunity to have a more personal discussion and get your questions answered.

For more in-depth discussions on some of our topics, consider attending one of several optional workshops on the day prior to the seminar. These workshops include information on eRA, human subjects research protections, intellectual property & iEdison, as well as an administrator’s boot camp. Join us as we meet, learn and share in New Orleans!

Take advantage of our General Registration Rates which end Friday, April 8! In addition, you’ll want to book your room now, while our seminar room block and special discounts are still available.

We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans! If these dates don’t work for you, consider our fall seminar in Baltimore, Maryland, Oct. 25-27, 2017. For future locations and listserv information, visit the NIH Regional Seminar Home Page at /grants/seminars.htm.
