The NIH Final Policy for Data Management and Sharing is in Effect: Planning for Success!
Event Overview:
Description:
In this session, NIH staff will review the Final NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing (DMS) which went into effect on January 25, 2023, provide an overview of policy implementation efforts at NIH, discuss available materials and resources to support implementation of the policy by the research community and identify areas where additional resources to support policy implementation may be developed. A substantial part of the session will be dedicated to responding to questions from session participants.
This event took place during the 2023 NIH Virtual Grants Conference.
Objective:
Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to describe:
- the scope and requirements of the policy;
- how to submit DMS plans and budget information as part of the application;
- some of the important elements that a data management and sharing plan is expected to have; and where to find available resources on the DMS policy.
