Study (in China) of Periconceptional Vitamin Supplements to Prevent Spina Bifida and Anencephaly Cooperative Agreements (U11)

In cooperation with the Beijing Medical University (BMU) of the People’s Republic of China, to support a project undertaken by BMU to conduct a randomized controlled trial in china to determine whether vitamins, taken before pregnancy begins and through the first trimester, prevent spina bifida and anencephaly. The project will consist of an initial preparation stage and a 1-2 year pilot study which will document the potential for a full-scale randomized controlled trial.
