Loan Repayment Program for Contraception and Infertility Research (L50)

To provide for the repayment of the educational loan debt of qualified health professionals (including graduate students) who contractually agree to commit to conduct qualified contraception and/or infertility research.

Purpose

The objective of L50 is to recruit and retain highly qualified health and/or allied health professionals into biomedical or biobehavioral research careers as contraception and/or infertility investigators.

NIH defines Infertility Research as research that has long-range objective to evaluate, treat, or ameliorate conditions which result in the failure of couples to either conceive or bear young. Contraception Research is defined as research that has the ultimate goal to provide new or improved methods of preventing pregnancy.
 

Additional Program Information

All applications to the Contraception and Infertility Research LRP are reviewed by the Eunice Kennedy Schriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). In addition to doctoral-level degrees, applications will be considered from other allied health professionals including nurses, physician assistant, graduate student, or postgraduate research fellow training in a health profession.
