Loan Repayment Program for Pediatric Research (L40)

To provide for the repayment of the educational loan debt of qualified health professionals involved in research directly related to diseases, disorders, and other conditions in children. Qualified health professionals who contractually agree to conduct qualified pediatric research are eligible to apply for this program.

Purpose

The objective of L40 is to recruit and retain highly qualified health professionals into biomedical or biobehavioral research careers as pediatric investigators.

NIH defines Pediatric Research as research that is directly related to diseases, disorders, and other conditions in children. Pediatric research does not need to involve human subjects.
