Purpose

The purpose of this Guide Notice is to inform grantees that new parent Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) for Administrative Supplement (non-competing Type 3) requests, Successor-in-Interest applications (Type 6), and Change of Grantee Organization (Type 7) applications have been posted with updated application forms packages (FORMS-C).

NIH will allow a transition period through February 28, 2014, during which time applications for both the FORMS-B and FORMS-C FOAs will be accepted. The new FOAs with FORMS-C application forms must be used for submissions made on/after March 1, 2014.

Notes:

  • Applications to these FOAs may only be submitted electronically for currently active awards and for single-project activity codes that have transitioned to electronic submission. See Activity Codes Processed Electronically.
  • Cover Letters (SF424 R&R form, field 21) will not be accepted. Attempts to attach a cover letter will result in an error preventing successful submission.
  • NIH has not yet made electronic submission of these post-award applications mandatory. Paper processes remain an option, but NIH encourages grantees to become familiar with the electronic processes as we move towards mandating their use.
