This FOA is developed as an NIH Roadmap initiative (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/new_investigators/innovator_award/); all NIH Institutes and Centers are participating. This FOA is being administered by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) on behalf of the NIH.

The purpose of this notice is to clarify the application instructions for the "2007 NIH Director's New Innovator Award Program (DP2),” (RFA-RM-07-009) which was published in the NIH Guide on March 9, 2007. The following instructions replace Section IV. Application and Submission Information; Part 6. Other Submission Requirements; Paragraph 1. This paragraph now contains the following two sub-paragraphs (1.a and 1.b):

1.a. SF424 (R&R) HEADER (MAIN) PAGE: Enter title of applicant’s project in the "Application Filing Name" field. DO NOT include the two-digit Area of Science code at the beginning of the title in this field. The title entered in this field is for use solely by the applicant for tracking the application through the Grants.gov submission process. It has a different length requirement and does not need to match the full title entered in Item 11 on FACE PAGE (Section 1.b) below.

1.b. SF424 (R&R) COVER COMPONENT: Fill out each section using the instructions below. Note that items that are starred (*) in the application are mandatory.
