Purpose

This Notice provides important updates to PAR-15-361 to inform interested applicants about changes for the upcoming November 30, 2016 application receipt date and the remaining November 30, 2017 receipt date.

Application Receipt Date: November 30, 2016

A sufficient number of high-quality Center applications were received in FY2016 to allow NIOSH to fund 6 center applications. NIOSH committed all FY2016 program funds to support a broad-based extramural program that continues 4 established Centers and starts 2 new Centers.

Currently, no additional funds are expected to be available for New or Resubmission applications for Centers of Excellence for Total Worker Health under PAR-15-361 in FY2017.

Consequently, NIOSH is announcing that New or Resubmission applications will not be accepted for the November 30, 2016 receipt date. Any such applications submitted for this receipt date will not be reviewed.

Only Revision applications from the 6 funded centers will be accepted for
research projects that competed in FY2016 but were not funded;
pilot/feasibility research programs.

Review criteria and funding limits stated in PAR-15-361 apply. The Letter of Intent date remains September 15, 2016.

Funding will be dependent on the number of meritorious applications received and available FY2017 funds.

Application Receipt Date: November 30, 2017

NIOSH will decide in mid-FY2017 whether the November 30, 2017, receipt date and the September 15, 2017 Letter of Intent Date will be used. If NIOSH decides not to use these, an updated Notice will be published which states this decision and closes PAR-15-361.
