During the 2-day seminar, you'll have the opportunity to meet and discuss grant issues with approximately 60 HHS & NIH policy, grants management, review and program officials, as well as NIH senior leadership all in a central location! Another valuable opportunity to get your questions answered is during the 15 minute 1:1 Meet the Expert chats. In Baltimore, the NIH will provide an additional number of experts to help answer your specific questions about the grants process and policies.

These officials provide a comprehensive program that provides valuable information about the NIH grants process, including such topics as peer review, grant writing for success, pre-award and post-award issues for administrators and investigators, application instruction changes, compliance, how to interact electronically with NIH, human subjects and animal research protections, as well as how to map your career with NIH. Special interest sessions are also provided on topics such as research integrity, intellectual property and data sharing, foreign collaborations, R& D Contracts, and ClinicalTrials.gov. Meet and hear from the NIH Deputy Director of Extramural Research, Dr. Michael Lauer, on the latest funding trends, NIH program initiatives, and so much more. For a better idea of all the options, take a look at the agenda to see all the sessions offered this year!

Seats are still available for the optional pre-seminar workshops, so take advantage of these opportunities to have more in-depth discussions about various topics of interest:

  • OHRP & NIH Workshop on Human Research Protections: Getting Through Human Research Review with Skill (5.5 CME credits - attendance at the 2-day seminar not required for this workshop)
