Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to clarify the length of extension of the budget and project period of the parent grant that will be provided for funded extensions described in RFA-OD-13-199 "NIH Administrative Supplements to Recover Losses Due to Hurricane Sandy Under the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act – Non-Construction (Admin Supp)". For the funded extension option, the extension provided to the parent grant will be a 12-month extension of the current budget period. Funding provided will be equivalent to 12 months of support based on the funding level of the current budget period. However, since the funding will be provided as a separate administrative supplement award, that supplement award will be issued using a 24-month budget/project period to provide the grantee with 24 months to expend the additional funds.
The following corrections are being made to RFA-OD-13-199.
Currently reads:
The purpose of this funding opportunity is for investigators and institutions impacted by Hurricane Sandy and with active NIH grants to request: 1) a 24-month extension of the current budget period, with 12-months of funding at the same funding level as the current year of the grant;
Modified to read:

Paragraph #3 currently reads:
1) Funded Extension: Grantees may request a funded extension at the same funding level as the current year of the grant. The active grant can have multiple future years still committed; e.g., it need not be in the final year. For those approved for funding, the extension will be funded as a 24-month extension; however the funding provided will be equivalent to 12 months of support based on the funding level of the current budget period.
