Institute or Center Specific Information
The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) will accept applications from institutions or organizations to support conferences, symposia, workshops and/or meetings that align with our mission and strategic priorities. NINR discovers solutions to health challenges through the lenses of health equity, social determinants of health, population and community health, prevention and health promotion and systems and models of care. Under the 2022-26 strategic plan, NINR has identified firearm injury prevention research as its first strategic imperative. Drawing on the strengths of nursings holistic, contextualized perspective, core values, and broad reach, NINR funds multilevel and cross-sectoral research that examines the factors that impact health across the many settings in which nurses practice, including homes, schools, workplaces, clinics, justice settings, and the community.
The NINR encourages enhanced participation of early career scientists and trainees, particularly those from traditionally under-represented backgrounds as well as applications from minority serving institutions and other organizations that have historically been under-served. Applicants are strongly encouraged to consult with appropriate NINR staff when considering a R13 application.
