Update: The following update relating to this announcement has been issued:
Key Dates
Release Date: September 20, 2006
Issued by
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), (http://www.nimh.nih.gov)
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) began the Translational Centers for Behavioral Science Program in December 2000. When PAR-04-151 expires in October 2006, the NIMH will not reissue this program announcement for new and resubmitted (amended) applications. Please note that the last receipt date for PAR-04-151 will be October 22, 2006 for both new and resubmitted applications. The NIMH does intend to reissue this program announcement only for competing continuation applications.
Additionally, for applications submitted on the October 22, 2006 receipt date, there are new budget limits on total costs per year. Specifically, new, resubmission (amended), and competing renewal applications (Type 1 and Type 2) will be capped at $2 million total costs per year. This cap on funding includes facilities and administrative (F&A) costs for consortia/subcontracts. Non-competing (Type 5) applications that exceed $2,000,000 in total costs will be allowed to complete their remaining years of support as originally approved, but must conform to the new guidelines for all subsequent submissions.
Applicants should see NOT-MH-06-120 for additional information on limits to total costs for NIMH Centers Programs.
PAR-04-151 was one of several program announcements developed in response to a report written by the National Advisory Mental Health Council’s Behavioral Science Workgroup, entitled Translating Behavioral Science into Action. Other continuing program announcements describe a range of collaborative arrangements designed to foster smaller-scale and developmental activities in translational research in the behavioral sciences (see PAR-06-356 - Building Translational Research in Integrative Behavioral Science (R01): PAR-06-355 - Building Translational Research in Integrative Behavioral Science (R21); and PAR-06-357. Building Translational Research in Integrative Behavioral Science (R24).
