Extension of and Amendments to PAR-04-004, Interdisciplinary Behavioral Science Centers for Mental Health

This notice is to inform potential applicants that the expiration date for PAR-04-004, Interdisciplinary Behavioral Science Centers for Mental Health (P50), is extended to February 22, 2007.  The receipt date (deadline) for letters of intent is January 18, 2007, and the receipt date for applications is February 21, 2007.

In addition, the following changes to the program announcement are being implemented, effective immediately:

  • The limit on the requested budget for Full-scale Centers is $2.0 million total costs in any one year.  This limit includes all direct costs and all facilities and administrative (F&A) costs at all institutions involved in the proposed Center.
  • The limit on the requested budget for Start-up Centers is $1.0 million total costs in any one year.  This limit includes all direct costs and all facilities and administrative (F&A) costs at all institutions involved in the proposed Center.
  • For Full-scale Centers, the minimum number of proposed Individual Research Projects is reduced from five to four. 
  • For both Full-scale and Start-up Centers, the page limit for the Research Plan for each Individual Project is increased from 10 to 12 pages.  (For amended applications, an additional one-page introduction describing changes from the previously submitted version should be provided.)  The page limit for the Description of each Individual Core remains at 8 pages (plus, for amended applications, a one-page introduction describing changes from the previous version).
  • For Full-scale Centers, the minimum annual time commitment of the Center director is reduced from 30 percent to 25 percent.
