Purpose

On March 28, 2012, the NHLBI issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA): RFA-HL-13-017 Core Clinical Centers for Cardiothoracic Surgical Trials Network, CTSN, (UM1)

Clinical Research Skills Development Programs

Current LANGUAGE:
Applicants may request up to $100,000 per year in direct costs for a Clinical Research Skills Development Program, and not more than two programs will be funded by the NHLBI in the CTSN each year.

NEW LANGUAGE:
Applicants may request up to $100,000 per year in direct costs for a Clinical Research Skills Development Program, and up to three programs will be funded by the NHLBI in the CTSN each year.

Non-Responsive Applications

CURRENT LANGUAGE:
Responsiveness issues should be addressed in the application. A CCC application will be considered non-responsive if any of the following conditions apply:

PI is not a cardiothoracic surgeon at 1.2 person months level of effort

Absence of a cardiologist or neurologist investigator at a minimum of 3.6 person months level of effort

Absence of a neurologist Investigator.

NEW LANGUAGE:
