Purpose

The purpose of this Guide Notice is to inform applicants who have submitted applications to either PAR-20-299: Translational Research in Maternal and Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics (R21 Clinical Trial Optional) or PAR-20-300: Translational Research in Maternal and Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) with an application due date of April 11, 2023, that Data Management and Sharing (DMS) plans, along with applicable Budget and Budget Justifications, will be collected during the Just-In-Time (JIT) process for any relevant applications being considered for funding. These applicants are subject to the NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing and therefore are required to provide a Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Plan. However, due to an issue with the prior announcements, researchers were unable to submit their DMS Plans with their applications.

As a reminder the NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing is effective for due dates on or after January 25, 2023. Consistent with the NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing, when data management and sharing is applicable to the award, recipients will be required to adhere to the Data Management and Sharing requirements as outlined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement. The Plan will be reviewed and approved by NIH Program Staff prior to award. Upon the approval of a Data Management and Sharing Plan, it is required for recipients to implement the plan as described.
