Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants that the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) will participate, effective immediately, in PAR-19-164 , "Summer Research Education Experience Program (Clinical Trials Not Allowed R25)".

The following changes and updates are made to PAR-19-164 (shown in italics) to reflect NIBIB participation in this FOA.

Part 2. Section V. Application Review Information
1. Criteria

  • NIBIB. National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering will support applications focusing on summer research experiences broadly in the areas of biomedical imaging, bioengineering, or health informatics. NIBIB will support programs only for high school science teachers and community college faculty from STEM-related departments, and not for students.

2. Review and Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated for scientific and technical merit by (an) appropriate Scientific Review Group(s) convened by NIAAA, NIBIB, NIDA, NIEHS, or NINDS, in accordance with NIH peer review policy and procedures, using the stated review criteria. Assignment to a Scientific Review Group will be shown in the eRA Commons.
