NIDDK ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARDS

PURPOSE

The purpose of the this Notice is to announce updates to the additional 
information provided by the National Institute of Diabetes and 
Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) on its use of K-series awards. 
The major revisions are as follows:
1.the K23, K24, and K25 mechanisms have been added;
2.Research support for K08 is increased, beginning with FY2002 awards, 
to $25,000 (formerly  $20,000) to be in accord with support costs on 
K23 and K24 awards; and,  
3.NIDDK’s use of the Independent Scientist Award (K02 mechanism) has 
been discontinued, except through special solicitations.
