NEW NINDS EXPLORATORY/DEVELOPMENTAL GRANT (R21) NOTICE OF INACTIVATION OF OLD PROGRAM (NOT-NS-00-011) RELEASE DATE: May 29, 2003 NOTICE: NOT-NS-03-017 National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) (http://www.ninds.nih.gov) PURPOSE The purpose of this notice is to alert the scientific community that effective with the June 1, 2003 receipt date, the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) will accept investigator- initiated exploratory/developmental research grant (R21) applications that are responsive to PA-03-107, NIH Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Award (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/ PA-03-107.html). For NINDS R21 guidelines, see: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/funding/r21guidelines.htm. Therefore, NINDS's earlier announcement, NS-00-011 http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-NS-00-011.html, is being inactivated. NINDS will continue to use the exploratory/developmental research grant (R21) as appropriate to meet specific program needs as announced in individual Requests for Grant Applications (RFA) and Program Announcements (PA). Investigators responding to one of these RFAs or PAs should follow the guidance provided in that announcement.
