Purpose

This Notice provides two updates to references to Tables for PAR-16-109 "Bridges to the Doctorate (R25)":

  • A link is provided to access recommended NRSA Table 6A, Parts I and II, and
  • Reference to Sample Table 1 is deleted

Current Language
Applicants should use NRSA Table 6A, Parts I and II (from Predoctoral Training Tables) to provide additional information on the student pool of eligible program participants.

New Language
Applicants should use NRSA Table 6A, Parts I and II (from Predoctoral Training Tables, https://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/424/datatables.htm) to provide additional information on the student pool of eligible program participants.

Institutional Environment and Commitment
Current Language
Provide a brief description of the following to address the Institutional Environment:

  • Applicant and the partner institution(s) in the consortium, including the geographic location of the partner institution(s) in the context of the lead applicant institution, and the rationale for selecting these institutions for the partnership;
  • Biomedical and behavioral sciences-related disciplines in which master’s degree programs are offered at the master’s degree institution(s), and the relevant curriculum;
  • Biomedical and behavioral sciences-related disciplines in which Ph.D. degree programs are offered at the doctoral institution(s) in the consortium, and general degree requirements; and
  • Current student development and research-training programs (applicants may use the suggested format provided in the Sample Format Table 1), as well as counseling/mentoring services (funded by the institution and by sponsoring entities) available at the applicant and partner institutions, and their successes in preparing and graduating underrepresented students.
