The Division of AIDS (DAIDS) of the National Institute of Allergy and 
Infectious Diseases (NIAID) announces that effective immediately, 
applications will no longer be accepted in response to Program Announcement 
PA-02-172, COMPLICATIONS OF ANTIRETROVIRAL THERAPY, which appeared in the NIH 
Guide on September 25, 2002 at 
http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-02-172.html. 

The final receipt date for applications was September 1, 2003.

The purpose of this program announcement was to encourage research in the 
fundamental biochemical or pathogenic mechanisms of the metabolic 
complications associated with HIV disease and antiretroviral therapy. 

Additional applications in this research area continue to be encouraged under 
PA-03-108, NIH SMALL RESEARCH GRANT PROGRAM (R03),
