INACTIVATION OF SELECTED AHCPR PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENTS Release Date: May 11, 1999 P.T. Agency for Health Care Policy and Research The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) is inactivating two Program Announcements: 1) PA-94-066 on Medical Treatment Effectiveness Research - PORT-II published on May 13, 1994 and 2) PA-93-110 on Health Care Services for Persons with HIV Infection published on September 17, 1993. AHCPR will not give special consideration for funding to applications in response to these PAs received after June 1, 1999. AHCPR supports highly scientifically meritorious applications in all areas of research within its mission, including the scientific areas delineated in these PAs. PA inactivation simply means that special consideration for funding beyond normal paylines will NO LONGER be given to applications on the research topics identified in the inactivated PAs. However, such applications will be accepted, reviewed, and considered for funding with all other investigator-initiated applications.
