NCRR BIOTECHNOLOGY RESOURCE (P41) GRANTS DIRECT COST CEILING

At the January 1999 meeting of the National Advisory Research Resources
Council, the Council recommended that NCRR increase the ceiling amount for
recurring direct costs (direct costs less items of equipment) for
Biotechnology Resource Center grants (P41) from $650,000 to $700,000 per year. 
The $700,000 ceiling applies to new competing (Type 1), competing continuation
(Type 2), and revised (amended) P41 grant applications submitted to NCRR for
the June 1, 1999, receipt date and beyond.  All P41 applications submitted to
NCRR before June 1, 1999, including those currently pending review or award,
are subject to the $650,000 ceiling.  Prospective applicants should contact
NCRR to obtain the program guidelines.
