INFORMATIONAL MEETING FOR POTENTIAL APPLICANTS TO THE NCI DIRECTOR'S CHALLENGE:
TOWARD A MOLECULAR CLASSIFICATION OF TUMORS

Request for Applications (RFA) CA-98-027 for cooperative agreements (U01/U19s)
is intended to support the formation of multi-disciplinary research groups
[National Cooperative Tumor Signature Groups (NCTSGs)] focused on the application
of comprehensive molecular analysis technologies to the analysis of tumor
specimens in order to develop molecular-based tumor classification schemes. The
complete text of the RFA is available in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts.
A pre-application informational meeting for those investigators considering
submitting applications in response to the RFA will be held on Friday,
February 19, 1999 from 10:00 am to 3:00 p.m. at the Natcher Building, NIH,
Bethesda, MD in the Auditorium Balcony Room A. Representatives from the
Cancer Diagnosis Program, Grants Management Branch, and Special Review, Referral
and Resources Branch will be available to provide information and to answer
questions relevant to applications responding to this RFA. Transcripts will be
available upon request for investigators who are unable to attend.
