The following correction is issued for PAR-97-013, which was published in the NIH
Guide for Grants and Contracts, Vol. 25, No. 41, November 29, 1996.  PAR-97-013
described the Initiative for Minority Student Development Program of the Minority
Opportunities in Research Branch that is within the National Institute of General
Medical Sciences.

The correction pertains to the section on Mechanism of Support and should read
as shown below:

MECHANISM OF SUPPORT

Awards under this program will use the institutional education project (R25)
grant.  Responsibility for the planning, direction, execution, and tracking for
evaluation of the proposed project will be solely that of the applicant.  The
total project period for an application submitted in response to this program
announcement may not exceed four years and is renewable.  Indirect costs will be
paid at 8% of the direct costs, minus appropriate exclusions.  A budget for each
year must be provided.

Applications requesting direct costs of $500,000 in any one year must obtain
written agreement from NIGMS that the application will be accepted for
consideration of award, in accordance with NIH policy, which is available at
