NIH REGIONAL SEMINAR IN PROGRAM FUNDING AND GRANTS ADMINISTRATION Release Date: March 25, 1998 P.T. National Institutes of Health A regional seminar covering topics related to National Institutes of Health extramural program funding and grants administration has been scheduled for Thursday and Friday, July 9-10, 1998, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This seminar, hosted by the University of Utah, is designed to attract participants from the inter-mountain/western region, although interested individuals from other regions are welcome to attend. Individuals from small and minority educational institutions, for-profit research organizations, hospitals, universities and medical centers are encouraged to attend. The two-day seminar will feature both plenary and break-out sessions in order to provide information of interest to academic researchers, scientists, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and both new and senior research administrators. Additional program information, including program topics and speakers, will be published in late April. In the meantime, those individuals interested in receiving registration information may submit their names to the host institution for the registration mailing list (see below). A block of rooms has been reserved for seminar participants at a rate of $95 per night, single or double occupancy. Participants should reference the NIH Regional Seminar when you call. Reservations must be made by June 17 in order to receive the negotiated conference room rate. Registration Fee: $145 The registration fee will cover continental breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday, a reception on Thursday evening, and all seminar materials. Checks or purchase orders made out to the University of Utah will be accepted for payment. One or two seminars will be held in fiscal year 1999. Although the location of the 1999 seminar(s) has yet to be decided, it is likely that one seminar will be held in the eastern/mid-atlantic region. No separate mailing list is maintained for the regional seminars.
