PURPOSE

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) announces a multi-year
continuation of post-treatment monitoring and follow-up assessments of
subjects who participated in the NIMH Collaborative Multisite, Multimodal
Treatment Study of Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (MTA
Study). The study objectives are described in the original Request for
Applications (RFA) for this program (MH-92-03).

Proposed Continuation. The proposed five year continuation period will be
devoted to intensive, ongoing monitoring and assessments of MTA Study
participants in the service of addressing the public health and scientific
goals outlined in the initial Request for Applications. In addition, the
continuation period will be used to examine questions concerning individual
differences in treatment effectiveness and responsiveness.

This solicitation is a continuation of an existing Cooperative Agreement
between the National Institute of Mental Health and current six collaborating
institutions; no additional applications will be considered.

NIMH staff will contract the current grantees directly regarding application
procedures and format.
