Investigators planning to submit investigator-initiated applications for research grants requesting more than $500,000 in direct costs in any year are advised that it is important to contact appropriate Institute/Center staff as they begin to develop plans for the study. Applications received without prior staff contact may be delayed in the review process or returned to the applicant without review.
