Background

The Fogarty International Center, together with NIAID, NICHD, and NIMH, of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to issue a Notice for administrative supplements for planning grants for research in support of the Global Health Initiative (GHI) and other critical health interventions focused on women's and girls' health.

The announcement is expected to be published in late spring 2011 with an anticipated receipt date in early summer 2011. Awards will provide up to one year of support..

Purpose

This initiative will provide an opportunity for scientists to identify important implementation-oriented, locally-relevant research priorities targeting women and girls health, not being adequately addressed by existing research.  

Eligibility

Applicants are limited to investigators with current NIH grant funding for research and research training from the co-sponsoring institutions.
