Purpose
The Office of Rare Diseases Research (ORDR), National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, will host a public pre-application meeting for investigators planning to submit applications in response to RFA-TR-13-002, entitled "Rare Diseases Clinical Research Consortia (RDCRC) for the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (U54)”.
The purpose of this informational pre-application meeting is to provide prospective applicants with an overview presentation of the RDCRC funding opportunity announcement (FOA) followed by an exchange of questions and answers pertinent to preparing applications in response to this FOA with representatives of the ORDR, NCATS and participating NIH Institutes and Centers (IC). This opportunity is not intended to replace more detailed discussions that applicants may wish to have with the IC scientific/research staff.
Meeting Details
This meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 from 1:00 pm 3:00 pm EST, at the Neuroscience Building, Conference Room C, 6001 Executive Boulevard, Rockville, MD 20852. VideoCast proceedings of this meeting will be available live with closed captioning. An archive of the video casting will be posted at http://videocast.nih.gov/ as a public resource as soon as possible after the meeting.
The meeting is open to all prospective applicants. Participation in the meeting, although encouraged, is optional and not required for application submission. There is no registration or fee requirement for this public pre-application meeting, but the space is limited. We encourage investigators who may attend the meeting in person to provide us in advance (preferably by email) with their names and other appropriate contact information including their current e-mail address at ordr@mail.nih.gov.
Questions prior to the meeting are invited and can be submitted at ordr@mail.nih.gov. The deadline for submission of questions is Monday, September 23rd, 5:00 p.m. EST. While an effort will be made to include all questions in the presentations or discussion, it is possible that not all will be addressed during the meeting due to time constraints.
