CHANGE OF RECEIPT DATE FOR THE EXTRAMURAL RESEARCH FACILITIES IMPROVEMENT 
PROGRAM

The National Center for Research Resources wishes to alert potential 
applicants to the Extramural Research Facilities Improvement Program 
(http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-01-130.html) that the 
receipt date of October 1, 2002, has been cancelled.  The next application 
receipt date will be February 1, 2003.  Applications will be accepted for the 
October 1, 2003 receipt date, and October 1 and February 1 annually 
thereafter.

In addition, the maximum request for all applicants will be increased to $4 
million beginning in fiscal year 2003 (including Centers of Excellence under 
section 736 of the PHS Act as amended by Public Law 105-392, and National 
Primate Research Centers).  Applications proposing a Federal share of less 
than $1 million or more than $4 million will not be accepted.

A revised program announcement for the Extramural Research Facilities 
Improvement Program will be published in the NIH Guide for Grants and 
Contracts.
