Overview:

The Office of Strategic Coordination – The Common Fund, within the Office of the Director (OD), has issued a research opportunity announcement (ROA) to solicit applications from community organizations in support of the goals of the Community Partnerships to Advance Science for Society (ComPASS)Program’s CHESI Initiative. A ROA is a method of solicitation that announces the anticipated availability of Other Transactions (OT) awards, a special legal instrument other than contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements.

Purpose:

The Community Partnerships to Advance Science for Society (ComPASS) Program is focused on community-led research that will intervene on structural factors that limit the optimization of health. The program aims to develop structural interventions that leverage multi-sectoral partnerships to improve health outcomes of communities, reduce health disparities, and to change systems, policies and practices to achieve optimal health for all. ComPASS will also develop a new health equity research model for community-led, multisectoral structural intervention research across NIH and other federal agencies.

The purpose of this announcement is to inform community organizations about the new research opportunity, OTA-22-007. This research opportunity will fund community organizations and support the development, implementation, assessment, and dissemination of community-led, health equity structural interventions, co-created in partnership with research organizations, that intervene upon structural factors that produce and perpetuate health disparities.
