Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to correct the Review and Selection Process of RFA-RM-17-007.

2. Review and Selection Process

Current language:

Applications will be evaluated for scientific and technical merit by (an) appropriate Scientific Review Group(s) convened by the Center for Scientific Review, in accordance with NIH peer review policy and procedures, using the stated review criteria. Assignment to a Scientific Review Group will be shown in the eRA Commons.

As part of the scientific peer review, all applications:

  • May undergo a selection process in which only those applications deemed to have the highest scientific and technical merit

Applications will be evaluated for scientific and technical merit by (an) appropriate Scientific Review Group(s) convened by the Center for Scientific Review, in accordance with NIH peer review policy and procedures, using the stated review criteria. Assignment to a Scientific Review Group will be shown in the eRA Commons.

As part of the scientific peer review, all applications:

  • Will undergo a selection process in which only those applications deemed to have the highest scientific and technical merit will be discussed and assigned an overall impact score
  • Will receive a summary statement. Depending on the level of perceived merit, the summary statements will include a resume and summary of discussion (scored applications), evaluative comments from individual reviewers, or a summary of the review process used.

All other aspects of the FOA remain unchanged.
