Notice Number: NOT-RM-17-016
Key Dates
Release Date: April 6, 2017
Issued by
Office of Strategic Coordination (Common Fund)
Purpose
The Notice informs potential applicants of the cancellation of the receipt dates listed below for RFA-RM-15-003, Pre-application: Stimulating Peripheral Activity to Relieve Conditions (SPARC) Comprehensive Functional Mapping of Neuroanatomy and Neurobiology of Organs (OT1).
Additional applications to the FOA will not be accepted by SPARC after the final receipt date on July 14, 2017.
The current SPARC Comprehensive Functional Mapping of Neuroanatomy and Neurobiology of Organs (OT2) awards use a multi-expertise approach to comprehensively understand the neurobiology of both afferent and efferent innervation of several major organs, as well as characterize nervous system regulation of function of these organs. Data from these projects supports the development of detailed, functional and anatomical neural circuit maps by the SPARC Data Resource Center to provide fundamental data necessary to significantly advancing development of neuromodulation therapies.
SPARC staff will work with the current SPARC awardees, partners, collaborators and industry experts to identify critical gaps and key roadblocks that hinder understanding of neural control of target organ function. The receipt dates listed above for RFA-RM-15-003 are cancelled so that new strategies can be implemented to further support SPARC's efforts to comprehensively map interactions between the peripheral nervous system and internal organs.
