Notice Number: NOT-RM-06-013
Key Dates
Release Date: February 16, 2006
Issued by
National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), (http://www.ncrr.nih.gov/)
This notice is an addendum to RFA-RM-06-002, Institutional Clinical and Translational Science Award , which was released in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts on October 12, 2005 at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-RM-06-002.html.
In Part II of the RFA, Section 3, 1A, Eligible Institutions, the first paragraph includes the following statement: Institutions whose faculties hold positions at two or more universities, medical, or osteopathic schools, etc. can be part of only a single application at a time. This restriction was included to strengthen the concept of a single institutional home for the discipline of clinical and translational research. However, under rare circumstances, NIH awards (e.g., a K12 award) that support trans-institutional affiliations that currently contribute to an institutional home for clinical research may be disrupted by this restriction.
Potential applicants for CTSAs whose existing affiliations will be disrupted by the single application rule must contact NIH Program Staff to determine whether they may be eligible for a waiver of the restriction on the grounds such as the affiliation is supported through active NIH Roadmap Training (T32), Career Development (K12) awards, or long-term affiliations.
