NCBC Collaborations as a Roadmap-Related Activity

The NIH Roadmap http://nihroadmap.nih.gov/ is an integrated vision to deepen our understanding of biology, stimulate interdisciplinary research teams, and reshape clinical research to accelerate medical discovery and improve people's health. The three NIH Roadmap themes are: 1) New Pathways to Disovery, 2) Research Teams of the Future, and 3) Re-Engineering the Clinical Research Enterprise. The NIH Roadmap National Centers for Biomedical Computing (http://www.bisti.nih.gov/ncbc/index.cfm) comprise a major component of the New Pathways to Discovery theme. The recently announced initiative Collaborations with National Centers for Biomedical Computing (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-05-063.html) has been revised to indicate that it should be considered a Roadmap related activity since it is stimulated by Roadmap-supported research but is not directly supported by Roadmap funds.
