Purpose

This notice is intended for applicants who are submitting a Fundamental-Plus or an Expanded application.

If you are receiving error messages about Specific Aims page limits being exceeded during electronic submission of your Fundamental-Plus or Expanded application, this notice advises you on how to address this issue.

To address or avoid this error message, CDC/NIOSH recommends that you attach a 1-page summary of your Specific Aims in the field found at 2. Specific Aims on the PHS 398 Research Plan Form. That attachment cannot exceed 1-page.

If you need to include more information about your Specific Aims, add a clearly named attachment (such as “Additional Specific Aims Information”) at 12. Appendix located at the end of the PHS 398 Research Plan Form.
