Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform interested applicants of a change in the budget period and period of performance associated with RFA-OH-20-002 “Commercial Fishing Occupational Safety Research Cooperative Agreement (U01)”. The current budget period and period of performance are 24 months. The new budget period and period of performance will be 36 months. Applicants should plan their proposed research using a 36-month period for budget and performance in their applications. Programmatic progress and financial reporting will be required annually.

This change will allow awardees to better manage the current 50% cost matching requirement as specified by authorizing legislation. Other significant reasons for this change include:

  • better management of non-competing continuation workload
  • better management of outyear funding and next year uncertainty, and
  • better management of CDC working capital costs.

Upon publication of this notice, this change will be in effect for the next application receipt date of January 21, 2021.
