Many high-quality state-based surveillance (SBS) applications were received in FY2010. NIOSH committed all FY2010 SBS program funds to build a broad-based extramural program. The FY2010 SBS awards are for multiple years with level funding. Currently, no additional funds are expected to be available for new or revised SBS applications under PAR-09-184 in FY2011. Consequently, NIOSH is announcing that new or revised SBS applications will not be accepted for the September 2, 2010 receipt date. Any new or revised SBS applications submitted  for the 2010 receipt date will not be reviewed.

If additional  funds become available for FY2012 (September 2, 2011 receipt date), NIOSH will resume accepting SBS applications under PAR-09-184. NIOSH will be reissuing PAR-09-184 to incorporate enhanced peer review criteria and guidance, other updates, and minor revisions. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Program Official listed below with any questions or for additional information.
