The purpose of this Notice is to inform interested applicants that NIOSH will participate in the “Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research”. Principal Investigators, currently funded through a NIOSH research grant (R01), are eligible to request administrative supplemental funds to existing grants for the support and recruitment of underrepresented students, post-doctorates, and eligible investigators from underrepresented groups.
The purpose of this supplement is to attract and encourage underrepresented individuals to enter and pursue a professional career in occupational safety and health research.
NIOSH is limiting total costs of individual awards to $33,000 per year and expects that about $100,000K will be available for this program in FY-2009. Applications will be considered for research experiences of up to one year.
Letters of Intent are not required; however, interested applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the NIOSH program official to discuss their application and the current status of this program.
