Notice Regarding RFA-OH-08-002 Expansion of the National Mesothelioma Virtual Registry and Tissue Bank (U24)

Notice Number: NOT-OH-08-002

Key Dates
Release Date: February 6, 2008
Application Receipt Date: March 26, 2008

Issued by
National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), (http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/homepage.html)

The purpose of this notice is to provide clarification on three items in RFA-OH-08-002:

1. Applicants should defer to the PHS 398 instructions and forms wherever RFA-OH-08-002 refers to SF 424. Because the cooperative agreement grant mechanism, including U24, has not yet been transitioned by NIH from the PHS 398 to the SF424 (R&R) and electronic submission through Grants.gov (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-08-028.html), applicants are required to use the PHS 398 grant application instructions (11/2007 Revision) and fillable forms (11/2007 Revision), available at https://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/phs398/phs398.html. Notable changes to the PHS 398 instructions are described at https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-08-028.html.

2. The first sentence of paragraph three in Section II. Award Information, 2. Funds Available, should read as follows: “If an applicant requests a funding amount greater than the ceiling of $1,100,000 in total costs per year, HHS/CDC will consider the application non-responsive, and it will not enter into the review process.” The maximum total cost that may be requested is $1,100,000 per year. The maximum project period that may be requested is five years.

3. Replace the first sentence in Section III. Eligibility Information, 3. Other-Special Eligibility Criteria, with the following sentence "Applicant organizations may submit only one application".
