NIH SEED supports the participation of Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) recipients at life science investor and partnering events throughout the year. This program is part of a comprehensive approach NIH has established to enable the commercialization of healthcare technologies and services developed with NIH support.
Matched companies may receive the following benefits:
Eligibility: Companies must have had active NIH SBIR or STTR funding (grant or contract) within the last 24 calendar months. For companies with multiple awards, only one project will be considered per 6-month cycle. The program supports over 100 companies each year.
Companies may submit a request for consideration at any time during the year, however SEED will evaluate the match of companies to specific events only twice per year. The deadlines to submit a request for consideration are 5 pm EST January 19, 2024 and 5 pm EDT June 6, 2024. Within 3 months of each deadline, SEED will notify all companies if they have been matched to a showcase event occurring within the covered period (roughly March through September and October through February respectively).
