Purpose

This notice details additional flexibilities announced by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) pertaining to major disaster-affected areas in the States of Alaska, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, as well as Puerto Rico that were impacted by Hurricanes Fiona and Ian as well as the record storm occurring in Alaska. A six-month extension for all single audits was granted on October 20, 2022, that cover recipients in major disaster-affected areas stated. This extension is applicable for recipients and subrecipients in the affected areas who have single audit report due dates between September 18, 2022, and December 31, 2022. Effective as of October 27, 2022, the single audit flexibility has been extended to Health and Human Services (HHS) awarding agencies and recipients in major disaster-affected areas of Alaska, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico.

Subrecipients impacted by the major disaster-affected areas must inform recipients of the timing of their submission if they are applying the flexibility.

The OMB and the Federal Audit Clearinghouse encourages recipients in the less affected areas to submit reports as soon as possible.
