The purpose of this notice is to reiterate organization eligibility for applicants to Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) for NIH Research Enhancement Awards (R15), i.e., Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) for Health Professional Schools and Graduate Schools and Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) for Undergraduate-Focused Institutions. This notice is applicable to all active and future R15 FOAs.
Meeting the requirements for the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA) outlined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement Section 4.1.8, applications to R15 FOAs must be submitted by the eligible organization with a unique entity identifier (such as DUNS) and a unique NIH eRA Institutional Profile File (IPF) number. As a reminder, for AREA FOAs, the application must be submitted by the eligible undergraduate-focused organization, and for REAP FOAs, the application must be submitted by the eligible health professional or graduate school. Refer to the AREA and REAP FOAs for complete eligibility information. Applications submitted by ineligible organizations will not be considered for funding.
